It was my young dream to be a portrait artist and when I was about twelve I began taking on commissions. It was daunting but I had solid family support and I think they were selling for five dollars. My early professional career was dominated by life size portraiture but has weened into other things. Still, every once in a while someone calls seeking a loved one painted.
